Yup! God rest his soul. I didnt always agree with him but at least he was a man you could respect.

God rest his soul. He was an American, first and foremost. Everything else was secondary.

One of the very few politicians that transcended politics and partisan politics. If there were more like him we'd all be better off.

A personally sad day for me as a New Yorker and as an appreciater of a great mind with a sense of decency. I can't count more than a handful of politicians that I truly admire. I have one less to admire today.

"Lets see how the dems. handle this funeral."

With raucous laughter off-camera, with tears on-camera........

P.S. Somebody email the clintons and tell them not to bring a jumbo-tron to his funeral service

They haven't learned their lesson. The DNC keeps denying that the Wellstone "memorial" was a fiasco.

"She'll glob onto anything to give her something she'll never have - a friend.

Perfect description of Hildabeast!

Sen. Moynahan was the last of the classic Democrat Gentlemen in the Senate. A rare breed..he had good manners. God Rest His Soul.

Same old Hildebeaste - always trying to reflect a little of some man's glory her way

She has come to praise herself, not bury Moynahan.

Agreed. He was a great man. I remember crying the day Hubert Humphrey died. We would be fortunate indeed if we could find a few more who believed as passionately as Dan. Condolences to family, friends, and all New Yorkers.

You think they'll hold this funeral in a stadium? You think they'll bus in a few thousand "mourners"?

He was a very smart and decent man. He wrote an article in last month's Washingtonian naming the most effective president during his service: Ronald Reagan. He was of a class too rare in the Senate these days.

May he R.I.P, but I have to disagree on the "honorable" comment made by some here...an honorable Democrat would have handled Clinton's impeachment differently...

Lets see how the dems. handle this funeral.

Hopefully alot better than the last one but knowing the left they will use this man's funeral to advance their agenda.

The last honorable Democrat.

This isn't the time to talk about his insertion at 3AM with only two others present into the Tax Reform Act of 1986 of a little gift to his big contributors that penalized businesses for using competitors of those contibutors, and which wasn't discovered until more than a year after the Act was passed.

They are all honourable men.
