The Al-Mamori family has been tied to the television ever since the war in Iraq began, flipping between BBC, CNN and Al-Jazeera.
Even with access to 35 Arabic language TV channels, not to mention American cable news shows, the most vivid images Jawad Al-Mamori sees of Iraq are not on the screen. They are in his mind.

When Iraq has been liberated, all these stories will come out. No they won't. The media will do the same as they are doing now.

When Saddam is in power,'' Al-Mamori says, ``even here I don't feel peace.'' I wonder why these are the voices that have been ignored by the likes of all the high minded.I wonder what the Pope would say to this man, "it's ok, you don't need freedom, just pray and God will deliver you eventually." P.S. keep your young sons away from our priests for their own protection. Even Iraqis living in the US fear Saddam with good reason if they still have family in Iraq which most do.

Good point ibbryn. I can imagine that Iraq only has one person that could possibly have 2 sattelite dishes and a 52 inch screen tv, that's only until we get done kicking his a$$ though.

More likely, he and his wife both work, different shifts so someone's home to look after the kids, and they saved up for one big luxury which now provides their only source of both information and entertainment. That room they're in sure doesn't look too grand.

He needs to watch FOX News. At least they "understand" what has and is happening to the Iraqi people. At least they understand the importance of not allowing a pshyco like Saddam to have chemical and biological weapons to share with terrorists willing and glad to murder Americans.
I hope his daughters dreams of her Grandmother being in her home some day.. happens soon. Just "imagining" the horrors that Iraqi people are being forced to face because of this madman, makes me sick to my stomach.
May God protect this mans family here and in Iraq.
