I wouldn't presume to hang a yellow ribbon (we won't mourn our way to victory, anyway. Fly the flag!) on the front of town hall or the fire station. What these people do on their own property is grand. If everybody felt compelled to festoon city property as an expression of solidarity with something or other, our towns would look like Mexican bazaars.

It is a statement saying we are supporting our troops, particularly the POW's and that we are standing with them and looking forward to their safe return! Also, they are not to be displayed in place of the Stars and Stripes. They are to be displayed in addtion to our grand old flag.

Tell that to a veteran.
