If Europe would have rose up and kicked the snot out of Hitler early on, it could have save upwards of 20 million lives. If we would have rose up and intervened in Cambodia, we could have save two million more. If we would have raised up and destroyed Hanoi and it's soiled leadership, we could have saved another half to one million.

Pussyfooting around with tyrants gets us nowhere. Yep, I do approve of preemptive strikes on occasion. Do I like us having to do it. No? I dislike the results of not doing it a whole lot more.

We are attacking Saddam Hussein's regime - not Iraq.

We are waging war against a country that has never threatened us, nor attacked us, which we in fact supplied with weapons to fight a war against Iran.

We are liberating Iraq.

We are liberating no one. We aren't even supplying willing allies, the Kurds, with heavy weapons. We intend to rule Iraq with our military for the time being.

"Iraq has never been a threat to us."

We are attacking Saddam Hussein, WHO IS and HAS BEEN a threat to us, supporting terrorism and developing WMDs.

He has been no threat to us, perhaps now the Iraqis will be due to our attack on their nation, as our CIA director suggests.

If we had not intervened on the side of the English and French in WWI they would probably have settled the war on equatible terms instead of blaming Germany and demanding massive reparations. Hitler would be an unknown soldier and millions of dead would be hailed for their contributions to humanity.

As for never Iraq being a threat, have you not heard about the terrorists al-quada training camps over there?

Iraq is a secular nation Al-Quada would love to overthrow.

So anotherwords Hitler was our fault?

Sorry but there is no justification for a Hitler. Perhaps the settlement was harsh, I'm not immune to that arguement. That is no justification for what Hitler did in WWII.

I am not justifying Hilter, I am blaming the creation of the conditions that allowed his rise to power on the misguided policies and conditions forced on the Germans after WWI.

WWII should never have happened.

You apparently have been hiding under a rock when the discussion of the last year has gone on. You are factually incorrect, merely reciting lies of the opponents of US policy:

- Saddam Hussein has threatened us by supporting terrorists. Saddam was behind the 1993 WTC attack. He trained terrorists at Salman Pak. He funded palestinian terrorists, Al Ansar brigade, Algerian GIA, and harbored terrorists like Abu Nidal and Al aQuaeda operatives, include a key leader that was behind the killing of an american in Jordan.

- Saddam Hussein threatens us through his pursuit of weapons of mass destruction, his VX, anthrax. We've already had the reports of the chemical warfare supplies. The stuff he lied to the UN about for 12 years is in there, and if we didnt get rid of it, he would give it to the terrorists sooner or later. If he didnt use it himself to threaten neighbors, or us, directly.

- Saddam Hussein is breaking UN and ceasfire agreements going back to 1991 war; this is a threat to us, as defiance of international action to stop WMDs will some day lead to possible use of WMDs - against us.

- "We aren't even supplying willing allies, the Kurds, .." we just had a joint exercise with the kurds to destroy Al Ansar. We have kept Kurds from being brutalized with our no-fly zones, but that doesnt give 'em their homes back that saddam stole from them. this liberation can return many of them to the towns they grew up in.

We are liberating Iraq. Saddam Hussein has a brutal regime. He has killed hundreds of thousands of kurds in a genocide; he has killed political opponents and ordinary people who speak out against him; he has brutalized thousands; his thugs use torture and terror regularly, including acid vats, professional rapists. saddam Hussein's role model is Stalin, for cryin' out loud, and Saddam has killed maybe 2 million iraqis and counting, emulating his role model's killing of tens of millions of Russians.

How can you not imagine that this is a liberation. Forget the fact that baathist thugs are fighting us - they are criminals and villians who are brutalizing the country.

Clean your ears out and listen. All your claims are easily refuted just by reading the articles about Saddam posted here on FR!

strawman. it's not pre-emption to attack a country that repeatedly failed to do what they promised to do in a previous ceasefire agreement. As such, consider this merely finishing off the 1991 gulf war.

"Iraq is a secular nation Al-Quada would love to overthrow."

False on both fronts. Al Quaeda are fighting side by side Saddam's regime.
