American forces are searching a terrorist compound in northeastern Iraq that was probably the site where militants made a biological toxin, traces of which were later found by police in London, the Pentagon's top general said Sunday.

U.S. and British forces now control the compound, which belongs to the group Ansar al-Islam, said Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, describing it as a site "where Ansar al-Islam and al-Qaida had been working on poisons."

    More precisely,
Kurdish terrorists made biological toxin at this camp.
This adds another flavor into Perle's "Just add water" mix.

I searched but I didn't see this posted. It may be because I don't think we're supposed to be posting from the Washington Post according to that law suit from a couple of years ago. Anyway, wouldn't it be possible to post the whole article instead of an excerpt for the sake of those not registered to read the Washington Post?

I don't think this matters much..... I mean, we ARE going to find WMDs in the Baghdad area..... and that's what Blix couldn't find and our "excuse" for going in there.

Of course, the poison stuff was known while the UN was deliberating. Blix could have flown up there at any time. *s* the dolt!!

Does Hans Blix have an excuse ready for this one?
To: WOSG
No, I think the Al-Ansar group was at least in part Kurdish. What is important is that they were Islamists (like al-Qaida) and not Ba'athists or Kurdish partisans.

"Al Ansar brigades were Arab." Those that survived the attack, slipped into Iran, I've read.
