There is no specific info here. 90% of it is sci fi anyway, straight from Hollywood. The rest is from old Popular Science magazines.

As for the technology...I'm proud to say that my son (a civilian contractor) designed and built the prototypes. He has been in country since January and is in Iraq with the 1st MEF.

"Bristling with antennas and radar dishes, the Marines? mobile war room ? nicknamed ?the Bug? ? is a triumph of improvisation and technology."

this thing is an *extremely* tempting target... In this war, against an enemy with no effective air power or STS missile capability, it will work. But against an equal foe, it is *extremely* vulnerable. moreover, consider the impact on tactical operations of abruptly *losing* this thing.

Franks better think about decentralizing it, networking it, and getting some redundancy built in... (but he probably already has; he's anything but dumb...)

Til my dying day, these soldiers will have my respect and gratitude. Please tell him that for us. Try not to cry when you tell him.
