Something you snipped

An analysis of cases in Hong Kong from February 22 to March 22 found the virus was not hitting the customarily susceptible populations -- the very young and very old -- as the mean age of patients was 52. Similarly, few patients were smokers or people with underlying health problems.

Now wouldn't that be something, smoke and stay healthy.

Just when I was about to quit smoking! Great another excuse. Oh the irony, I am going to smoke to live...

I snipped that part because this source will not let us copy an entire article.

I agree, the patient profile was surprising. I just did not have enough space to include it all.

What kind of people travel and ride in airplanes? Businesspeople and tourists, seldom children, infirm or elderly. The healthy and affluent, mature and newly retired.

"Similarly, few patients were smokers...."

Smokers' airways and lungs would be covered with tar which may protect against airborne contamination. Imo then, it's airborne.

I mentioned this the other day and got shot down. 'Cause lots of people in China smoke.

I rarely get colds. I think it is because I smoke like a chimney basicly preventing oxygen and bad things to live in my lungs.

Possibly the very young and very old don't get out as much?
