Thank goodness my bad illness has a wet, not a dry cough and my fever has gone down

How can you distinguish between a wet and dry cough? Wierd question, but I very seldom get illness with coughs, but I am not exactly sure of the difference...

A dry cough basically produces nothing, while a nice, gurgling wet cough produces things that resemble those little pads of butter you get at restaurants...

A wet cough is what Monica Lewinsky had in the Oval Office.

You cough up stuff if it is a wet cough I think. That is my understanding anyway.
