I have great faith that our generals know exactly what they are doing, and have the situation well in hand.

That said, there is a spooky parallel to the First Battle of Grozny, when Russian armored columns penetrated directly into the center of the Chechen capitol, and were almost wiped out in furious attacks from all directions during the first night.

Of course, we have many tools the Russians never had, and our troops are sober.
