Anymouse: Flyer didn't announce the specific address on the threads per my request. The meeting is at my residence, and I don't want the address made public since liberals lurk on FR and our H.A.T. board.

If you plan on attending, let either myself or Flyer know. We will be happy to e-mail/Freepmail directions.

I fully understand your reluctance at advertising your home
address on FR for all of the nutballs to pay you a visit, but it would have been helpful for Flyer to indicate who would be the host and in what general part of the Houston area the meeting would be located at. If for no other reason than for people to plan their Saturday around the long journey out to the West side. I'm sure that had the meeting been arranged to be way down this side of Houston you folks would have wanted to know ahead of time.

As great as it is to have a FReeper open their home up to this roudy bunch, when you have a meeting at a public place you can advertise it to all potential members without screening them first. We want to encourage lurkers to join up and be active, not wonder if they get the secret handshake correct. :) The more transparent that a chapter's meetings are the easier it is to gain new members (and retain old ones.)

This isn't a knock against you or flyer, just a general concern of mine that this situation helps me illustrate how we can tend to hobble our organizational effectiveness without realizing it. Sorry about making this into the proverbial mountain out of a mole hill. /rant
