**AUGUSTA SPECULATION SUPREME** [Justice Sandra Day O' Connor Awarded Masters Memebership Tommorrow]
Golf Week Magazine ^ | April 2003 Issue | The Forecaddy -'Revelations and Speculations from the man out front'

Posted on 04/08/2003 9:35:16 AM PDT by ewing

The Masters Golf Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia is getting so close that the Forecaddie can pratcially smell the azaleas, but there may be more in the air than that.

Something big, big, big.

Here goes, the Forecaddy hears, from more than one source, that the Augusta National Golf Club will announce it's first female member April 9, the day before the start of this year's Masters 'tooniment.'

The Chosen One? Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

The Man Out Front has been scratching his head trying to do the math on this one. Why would Augusta National turn it's prized tournment into a big top circus the day before round one with such Richter Scale news? Since when does The National 'announce' new members to the media or the public? And would a sitting Supreme Court justice even consider jumping headlong into such a controversial matter? (Actually a Harvard Law Professor tells the Man Out Front that there would be nothing stopping her)

Then again, with or without Justice O' Connor the Masters may have already acheved Ringling Brothers Status..

I think they should offer an invitation to Ann Coulter. I can not think of a women who would annoy Martha more than her.

Problem is, AC would "annoy" 99.9% of the current members also...

Golf Week is a Golf Digest publication, and Golf Digest has been owned by the New York Times for a couple of years now. It's quite PC in its opinions -- very unlike golfers themselves. See Tim Rosaforte, the dweeb.

Roseforte is a dweeb, I cringe evertime he opens his mouth on the Golf Channel about his 'analysis' of Tiger.

I think they should privately invite Justice O'Connor, and then not say anything about it for a year. Then when Martha Burke starts this nonsense again next year, Mr. Johnson can deliver the money shot: "Oh, by the way, we had a woman member all the while you were protesting during last year's tournament."
"Really? Why didn't you say something?"
"Because your opinion doesn't matter. Good day madam."

Methinks the first woman member should be offered to Hitlery!

Why? It would put Hitlery in a quandry. She could either
say, Yes, and move on; or No, demanding that other
lesbians be included in a Group Lesbo Kluster Member Penetation, or bust!

Either way it would be fun to watch!

Isn't Nancy Lopez a conservative? (and I would have to vote for Grace Park on the LPGA..)

May I kindly, and gently, suggest that you make sure that the brain is awake before putting fingers on the keyboard......I understand what you're trying to get at, but talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face...
