>>Do we still use the A-6?
I'm pretty sure we're only using the EA-6B variant, which is an electronic warfare / SEAD aircraft.
The S-3 Viking is the carrier ASW aircraft that is also capable of flying tanker operations.

My San Jose city councilman's daughter is flying an A10 over there somewhere.. hmmm, hope it's not her plane? I think that is HER. One of the planes shot up yesterday was flown by a female and that looks like her in the photo (standing at attention, with plane behind her and someone taking her picture)

Wow! Your McGiver mechanics have got some work to do on this one.
Do you know the answer to the question on this thread about how many female A-10 pilots are flying over there?
To: 11th_VA
Damn, she collected all kinds of lead! Whewww!!! Her maiden name is Reed. I can't remember her married name, I think she is married to a A10 Warthog pilot, ironically enough.
Her dad is one of the good guys on the sick and twisted San Jose City Council.

I have no idea. I can't imagine it can be very many, though. Braver women than I.

This aircraft is quiet compared to most because it uses high bypass GE engines. Look at the photo of the shot up engine. The majority of the thrust produced by this engine comes from the fan and not through the tailpipe. Look at the photo of the F-18 engine, all of it's thrust comes through the tailpipe and as a result is very loud.

And the Air Force don't like this lovable ugly little warthog. Not sophisticated enough. It is like WWII and the P-40 it takes a beating and keeps on eating (Targets) And the B-36's that came back when they should have crashed hundreds of miles from home. We can build something to take damage, the holes are patched and it goes out again. It ain't pretty but it's got a lot of character.

I was kidding! Everybody says what an ugly plane it is. I bet it's REALLY ugly if you're in a tank and it's coming to kill you.

And the B-36's that came back when they should have crashed hundreds of miles from home. Your description fits B-17s, B-24s, and B-29s from WWII, and probably B-52 from Viet Nam, but B-36? I think not...
