I just betcha that you intended to add and extra "d" to the word next following "Marines" in your post. Although after two weeks of "shooting them down like the morons they are", the Marines probably feel like they really have been riding a world full of morons.

Some of them seem "smart" enough to get us to almost simultaneously fire upon buildings inhabited by the press -- and we were the dupes those times. Our soldiers sometimes err on the side of keeping themselves and their comrades alive.
The muslims do the opposite.

"They appear willing to die. We are trying our best to help them out in that endeavour." Damn! That sounds like something Chesty would have said!!
CHIEF, you're up there watching all of this.
Don't it make you proud, old son??

I love what Major Bob Bevelacqua said the other day. Something to the effect of let these guys get wound up, don't stop them from coming into Iraq, let all the nuts assemble and come charging into us so we can get rid of all the future problems right now.

"But often they run into our machine guns and we shoot them down like the morons they are."
This may be the greatest quote I have seen yet from this war. This is MY kind of General!
-----
Just wait until the PC crowd gets hold of this quote. They will demand his immediate resignation for not showing sufficient respect for the "heroic Iraqis defending their country against American Imperialism".

That's what I figure. Must be banking heavily on those virgins to refuse medical care for a blown off leg.
Rumsfeld said during Afghanistan that "we hope to accommodate them". I always liked that from Rummy.

In the interests of Global Jihad and furthering the Islamic Nation, all warriors for Islam are encouraged to immediately head for Iraq and stand with Saddam's soldiers in their battle with the Imperialist Infidel aggressors!

too bad there isn't time to allow *all* the terrorists to "come help defend baghdad"! ...or as a Marine I know once said when accused of "glorifying 'gunviolence'" "yes and the bigger the gun, the more satisfying the violence!"

We need to open Baghdad airport allowing incoming flights of jihad terrorists. Maybe American Airlines would fly them for free?

Brigadier General John F. Kelly Assistant Division Commander, 1st Marine Division |
|
|
|
Brigadier General John F. Kelly is currently serving as the Assistant Division Commander, 1st Marine Division, having assumed this assignment on 26 July 2002.
Brigadier General Kelly enlisted in the Marine Corps in September 1970. Commissioned in 1976 after graduation from the University of Massachusetts, he served as a rifle and weapons platoon commander, company executive officer, assistant operations officer, and infantry company commander, in the 2d Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, from July 1976 until February 1979 when transferred to sea duty. Duty afloat aboard the aircraft carriers Forrestal and Independence concluded in September 1980, at which time he transferred as a captain to the U.S. Army's Infantry Officer Advanced Course, Ft. Benning, Georgia.
After graduation from Ft. Benning in June 1981, Brigadier General Kelly reported to the Officer Assignment Branch, Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington, D.C., for duty as an assignment monitor. Concluding this tour in June 1984, he was again sent to the 2d Marine Division and commanded a rifle and weapons company for two years, and, as a major, served a year as the battalion's operations officer. In June 1987 he moved to The Basic School, Quantico, Virginia, where he initially headed the Offensive Tactics Section, Tactics Group. He later assumed duties as the Director of the Infantry Officer Course, and held that position for over two years.
In August 1990 he was reassigned to duty for a year as a student at the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and a second year attending the School for Advanced Warfighting - both also at Quantico. Completing school, the next assignment was as Commanding Officer, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, California. He held this command position from June 1992 through May 1994, and was then assigned as a student to the National War College in Washington D.C. Graduation from the War College took place in June of 1995 when he immediately assumed duty as the Commandant's Liaison Officer to the U.S. House of Representatives, Capitol Hill, a position he held until early summer 1999. Transferred to joint duty, he assumed responsibilities as the Special Assistant to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, in Mons, Belgium, until June 2001, when he was assigned to a third tour at Camp Lejeune this time as the Assistant Chief of Staff G-3, 2d Marine Division.
Decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with gold star, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal with three gold stars, Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and Navy/Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal.

How ya doin COB1?
Yeah, I'll bet CHIEF won't see any of these Evil DUers coming in his direction.

I was watching the news at work one day last week and the reporter was going on about how the Army was singing "Homeward Bound" as they were approaching Baghdad. Apparently some of the boomer reporters had taught them the words.
Well, the reporter at Fox then got Rick Leventhal on the phone. He's embedded with the the 1st Marines in a LAR battalion. Leventahl turns to this MArine by the name of Cody and says, "Cody, what is it you guys are singing as we near Baghdad?"
Cody, a strapping young fellow looks at Leventhal with a slightly twisted grin and says, "Kill'em All by Metallica". LOL
At this late date, I am not too ashamed to admit that I should have waited for the Marine Recruiter to get back from lunch.
