Some of them seem "smart" enough to get us to almost simultaneously fire upon buildings inhabited by the press -- and we were the dupes those times. This is the military - they don't do the "press as hostage" thing very well. The notion that they can hide among the press and take pot-shots at our troops has been dispelled.
Our officers need to get maps and mark them for our troops.
That won't be necessary. The morons know we'll shoot them regardless.

but often they run into our machine guns and we just shoot them down like the morons they are
After a couple of weeks of thirst, eating sand, and fierce fighting the brass finally reward the boys with a little rest and recreation

As this Islamofascist death wish begins to wane, I would like the allies to have a Sodom voice impersonator start screeching on the radio for all good Iraqi soliders to "get up!, attack!, and fight the Americans to the death!"

ISLAMOKAZI'S
If these dumba**es devoted the same zeal & energy to building a better life back at their homes, as they do to dying for Totalitarian regimes, the world (especially the Mideast) would be a far better place.

We are fighting an ideological and PR war, in order to save countless lives in the future.
And as time passes in Operation Iraqi Freedom, the less we can act in a total war fashion and the more we have to act as a military kind of riot police.

"Yeah, I'll bet CHIEF won't see any of these Evil DUers coming in his direction." I can just see the CHIEF sittin' there by the Pearly Gates with his sniper rifle in his hands just in case Saint Peter makes a mistake, he'll kill 'em again!
I'm doing good, HW! Good to see you!

The more I read stuff like this, the more I realize that Islamic fundamentalism must be wiped from the face of the earth. It is a depraved, deviant strain of totalitarianism that seeks nothing but death and slavery.
No wonder the west-coast anarchists love this stuff, their petit bourgeois nihilism has nothing on these islamikazi nuts.

Yeah. How bout the duffeses ramming our tanks with their Toyotas? Dumb gone to seed.

We are fighting an ideological and PR war, in order to save countless lives in the future. This is true, but the military, like the rest of us, have the right to self-defense. They aren't going to sit and let folks take pot-shots at them. They've been in firefight after firefight for the last several days. They're not going to take casualties while the enemy lives to shoot another. Return fire is reflex to a certain extent.
And as time passes in Operation Iraqi Freedom, the less we can act in a total war fashion and the more we have to act as a military kind of riot police.
This is also true. There's still quite a bit of uncoordinated attacks going on - those that requires quick response. As time passes, things will settle down and the military can go into police mode. Basrah is a ways ahead of Baghdad - it does serve to at least partially predict how things will go in Baghdad (it also serves as a learning tool).

"That seems like something Chesty would have said."
Actually it WAS said in 1943 by Manila John Basilone at a war bond dinner of the Sons of Italy in NYC. My uncle was there to hear him describe the Canal and Bloody Ridge. His words. "They wanted to die! We accomodated them!"
Manila John would like this Gyrene general.

In the case of Al-Jazeera, they're not press, they're propagandists who incite to violence against and hatred of America.

Unfortunately, this pic will get these guys into trouble; they are looting, and it is prohibited; not to mention that it is a bad example for the citizens to see, while we are attempting to enforce the rule of law.

General Kelly would do better to set an example of self-discipline.
The breakdown of military discipline, is what is our worst enemy in Baghdad.

It does seem the war in Iraq is attracting the potential Al Qaada recruits. If they try to fight a pitched battle with the US troops, they will die. That should cut off the supply of new followers for bin Ladin. Good Riddance!

I don't see it that way. Our troops are simply preserving the assets of the Iraqis by preserving this art from the looting masses that will surely destory everything relating to Saddam. I bet this art ends up on the wall of a nice Iraqi museum of art.
