The Overprivileged White Man’s Burden.
It has to be tough to be a communist/liberal/progressive in the world today, your ideologies have failed completely, and yet you’re hatred for America still holds your heart so strongly that you will get into bed with anyone, no mater how evil, just to stand against the US. Of course this gives your stand absolutely no moral relevance, but the left stop being about any sort of moral stand decades ago.
No sooner had the pictures of Iraqi’s celebrating in Baghdad appear across the globe than the “progressives/Leftists/Communists” began their ignorant spin…. And, no I am not making this stuff up people… The people in the streets cheering the US on, and condemning Saddam must be staged… the people celebrating and tearing down the statues of Saddam was just a coordinated and scripted photo op…. Those that claimed they were “against the war”, because they claimed “It would cost hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilian lives” is undeniably coming to an end, and their doom and gloom scenarios have not come true… one would think that this would be good news. The oppressed people of Iraq are tasting freedom for the first time in decades, the cult of personality of Saddam is crumbling into dust, and this liberty and freedom did not cost hundreds of thousands of lives, thanks without question to the actions of the US and UK led coalition.
The death and horrors of war are coming to an end, the doom and gloom of abject destruction did not occur, humanitarian aid, aid by the way that was not reaching these poor souls under Saddam, is already flowing. A ruthless dictator is gone, and liberty is at hand for all Iraq. What is the “anti-war” crowds response? Is it, thank goodness this is going to be over soon, thank goodness Saddam’s reign is at an end, thank goodness that this war and all the horrors of war will be ending soon?
One would think that might be the reaction… but, of course, among the leftists it wasn’t. Their first reaction when seeing the Iraqi’s cheering their freedom, a freedom won with the blood and dedication of the Coalition, was not Thank God they are Free… oh no, it was disbelief and anger that the Coalition not only, it appears, will win the war rapidly and with minimal loss of life, but that the liberated will actually welcome and celebrate their arrival… What’s wrong with these Iraqi’s? Don’t they understand the US are oppressive terrorists? That Bush, not Saddam, is the greatest terrorist on the planet? How dare they celebrate their freedom! How dare they thank Bush?? After all he is a tyrant.
Of course when confronted on camera, one anti-war activists response when asked if he was not happy that it appears the war is coming to an end and with minimal loss of life, and isn’t he happy that his dire predictions were wrong, what did he respond with? Did he respond with thank God? It is a great day for the Iraqi people? Nope, his response to the Iraqi’s celebrating the US arrival and praising them and Bush and America was “Well, they may no be free, but they don’t want us there”…. So there you have it folks, a 20something overprivileged child of upper middle class white America, who thinks being arrested for disorderly conduct is oppression, knows what the Iraqi’s want… ignore what the people in Iraq are saying, because after all what they say and do doesn’t jive with his leftist world view.
I can’t help but be reminded of what the Nazi’s used to say of the Jews when the concentration camps were discovered. When asked why the imprisoned were in such squalor and filth, the German’s responded by saying that the Jews liked and wanted to live like this, that they were animals. Of course Allied liberated the camps and supplied water and clothing and the Jews didn’t sit by and say let me stay in this filth… but I suppose the “noble lie” to a leftist is more important than admitting you’re wrong. Like the Iraqi Minister of Information, no matter what the truth is, just keep telling the same lie… the willing will believe anything, because they WANT to believe it. So here we are, little leftist Skippy here believes the US is the enemy, so no fact will convince him otherwise.
The children liberated from prison, some as young as 5-6 years of age, and some of which had been in prison for 5 years… that didn’t happen, it was just propaganda. The women telling of the systematic use of rape by this regime are just in it for attention, they weren’t really raped, I mean after all if they were really raped, they would have loved it and wouldn’t be crying on TV over it. Oh please, so he connected a car battery to your scrotum, what’s the big deal? I got a piercing through my tongue… you wimp. The lies these peoples minds construct to justify their idiocy is unfathomable. They are so committed to the absolute nonsense that the US, or George Bush, is the most evil thing on the planet that anything that is on the opposing side of them must be inherently good.
It has to be hard, knowing that American’s actions were once again, right, and right on all counts. Given how much you guys obviously hate the current president, it must be even tougher to swallow. It must be tough to accept that the United States Military is the most powerful military on the planet without question, given of course that your idea of Duty, Honor and Sacrifice is showing up when your blackberry goes off telling you what and where to protest the flavor of the month and possibly missing “The West Wing” because your Tivo is on the fritz.
It has to be hard to once again be COMPLETELY WRONG.. I know it won’t make you rethink your positions, because honestly you are too narcissistic to even consider that your stands are incorrect, immoral, unjust or improper… It would take a true open minded individual to do that, not one who just preaches about being open minded. Thank goodness for the 23 Million Iraqi people, they don’t have to bear your orverprivileged white man’s burden any longer. They celebrate Liberty tonight, while you cry over the loss of their oppression.
