You know, we've been told all along that this wasn't going to necessarily be short and easy....

we've had our day to JUSTIFIABLY be elated, but we're not done yet.

Those prayers need to continue, big time.

The funny part about the hunt for Pineapple face (Noriega) was the fact our troops knew where he was staying by the prescence of his funky red underpants. He was a kinko.

Speaking of smoking. You're smooth if you can do this like Spike.

I can curl my tongue; Mrs. U. can't. All 3 kids can -- so good chance it's a dominant trait :-).

US troops search Baghdad mosque after fight
April 10, 2003, 08:36 AM

US Marines were searching a mosque in Baghdad close to one of Saddam Hussein's presidential palaces yesterday after a fire fight with Iraqi forces, a BBC correspondent said from the scene.

Correspondent David Willis was quoted on the British broadcaster's website as saying the Marines believed Saddam might be hiding in the mosque. "The Marines came under attack - probably by special Republican Guard units - as dawn broke along the Tigris river," the BBC said.

"One Marine was killed in a half-hour battle," he added. - Reuters

I also checked that map and it was easier to work with than the one I have been using. Still each map has its uses depending on what detail one wants.

Quite True Gramma - Our leaders have been reminding us that, although Baghdad is, essentially liberated - the war is far from over!

Those prayers need to continue, big time.

AFP: 1 killed and 13 hurt as U.S. Marines face resistance in Bagdad

From this it sounds to me like our Marines are being careful not to damage these mosques. I wish we'd start leveling these things.

I'm fascinated by the color of the sky/architecture in the Baghdad photo's. The blues and sienna's are beautiful.
