Every day they announce how many leaflets they drop, etc. Reporters ask "do these leaflets really do any good?"

He said when they got to one of the oil fields, they found wellheads rigged with explosives, but the valves on the wellheads had been turned off. So even if the explosives had gone off (and most of them didn't), it wouldn't have done much serious damage. Then we captured some of the Iraqis who had actually rigged these explosives. We asked them why they turned the valves off and/or did a poor job of rigging the explosives. They replied "Because we read your leaflets. You told us that this oil belongs to the Iraqi people, and we would only be hurting ourselves. So we rigged them with explosives so we wouldn't get in trouble (aka get shot), but we fixed it so it would do the least amount of damage possible."
