[history]
The baseball Hall of Fame has canceled a 15th anniversary celebration of the film "Bull Durham," and the shrine's president said it was because of anti-war criticism by co-stars Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon.
Hall president Dale Petroskey sent a letter to Robbins and Sarandon this week, telling them the festivities April 26-27 at Cooperstown, N.Y., had been called off.

This is wonderful. I wonder how we can get a hold of Dale Petroskey and tell him how much we appreciate what he did!!!!!

Baseball is America's game, not the communist's game.
Kevin Costner sucks the life out of any movie he's in anyway. Who could watch that movie?
To: ladtx
Ok, I gotta ask...
Where did the "series" and "hugh" thing come from. The "All your base" thing was pretty easy to figure out, but this one has me stumped.
Though it's oddly funny, even though I don't quite get it.

You invoke patriotism and use words like 'freedom' in an attempt to intimidate and bully. In doing so, you dishonor the words 'patriotism' and 'freedom' and dishonor the men and women who have fought wars to keep this nation a place where one can freely express their opinions without fear of reprisal or punishment."
The armchair psychologist in me says that Tim's talking to himself here. He's also confusing "without fear of reprisal" to "not taking responsibility for my actions"
At least Tim did get one thing right: baseball isn't a Republican sport. Its an American sport. Ergo, if you start talking about how democracy might not be good enough for the Iraqis, then maybe you're living in the wrong culture.

Well, well, well! It seems there ARE consequences after all Mr. Robbins and Ms. Sarandon. I love this!

LOL!! I'm glad people haven't forgotten what these Hollywierd idiots have said.I'm glad they canceled...Its about time America showed the uppity stars who controls the purse strings.Without us they would be nothing.I plan to continue my boycott of Hollywood, because the things these stars have said about our country ,our president and our troops is unexcusable.
P.s.Did you hear that Hollyweird movie sales are down 18%?
Thats awesome, but I hope we can get it down to 50% in the months to come!

Better baseball movies than Bill Durham:
1. Field of Dreams
2. The Natural
3. A League of Their Own
Unfortunately, all of the above feature leftists, although I'm unsure of their stand on Iraq.

Message to Tim "Nuke" Robbins:
"Don't think Meat....you can only hurt the ballculb."
To: Living Free in NH
In his letter, Robbins said he'd been looking forward to "a weekend away from politics and war."
This guy needs to get a life. And a younger "partner".
