Liberation of Baghdad 'Sensitive'
It didn't take the liberal media long to spin yesterday's liberation of the Iraqu people. Last night in their hour long special, Peter-the-Canadian turned once again to the Iraqi expert who has been warning of the growing danger our forces would face. He has been insisted that the Iraqi would not welcome us, and that our presence in the region could only breed comtempt in the Arab world.
Now, it seems that our mistake was to take Baghdad is so insensitive a manner as we did. To do so, without a fight no less, was the worse thing we could do. Did we not know that we have only humiliated the rest of the Arab world who expected America GIs to die by the hundreds in street to street fighting. By walking in to Baghdad instead of shooting our way in, we have destroyed our relationships with the other Arab nations to the point that nothing can now repair them.
If only we cared more for the feelings of Arab Satelite Television viewers than our own soldiers lives (or that of the liberated citizens or Iraq) than there still could have been hope for our relationship with the Arab Street.
God Bless This Man! Some of us VRWC volunteers think freedom is worth fighting for. |
