The U.S. consulate in China has issued a lot of alerts on SARS lately. The last one says two Americans in Mainland China have gotten SARS and another American died from it.

Also, if you go overseas, standard evacuation insurance (or for that matter, any evacuation insurance) is not going to do you any good. Commercial airlines will not Medevac patients with SARS like symptoms. You would have to charter a private plane and you likely will not even be able to do that.
