I had to get this off my chest, especially since I haven't seen anyone else look at this from a generational point of view.

"Otherwise, it's over. Normalcy has returned."

I hope you are correct.

Good rant, this is something I've contemplated for a while now. Spoiled babies! I think you're right.

Even their children view them as self-centered and irresponsible.

litany_of_lies, you have written the TRUTH!

I think this is excellent, a great piece. It needs to go through a re-drafting or two, and certainly made longer (stats, etc. those are always good) and then submitted for a more formal publication. Because you have hit the Nail on the Head.

I'm a boomer too (b. 1958)and everything you say is SO true. I am not looking forward to growing old with my self-indulgent, self-regarding generation. But, in all truth, some seeds of truth have always been there. Remember, it was the Beatles who penned "but if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao/you ain't gonna make it with anyone, anyhow" not to mention the much mourned G. Harrison and his opus "Taxman".

But it is really the younger generation, including my own child, and, above all, the brave ones fighting for us now, who give me hope. Don't forget, many of our young adults have grown up in the only world where daily the right to kill them before they are born has been touted as a good, an indispensible "right"; yet they are still willing to die for us.

9/11 I really think, deep in my Piscean bones, changed EVERTHING.

God Bless George W. Bush, who has restored Honor, not just to the White House, but to Our Generation; and God Bless America, the Land of the Free, and the Home of the Brave.

You're right. I have a 21 year old and I saw that with her friends when she was in Jr. High and High school.

Thanks for the props. If I didn't have a day job, I'd work on a rewrite. Unfortunately, I have a lot of other stuff in my business that needs revising and rewriting first!

I am a boomer, but I graduated to adulthood. The Hollywood elite, the leftist professors and leftist lawyers never did. I think you have hit the nail on the head. They are anti-America, anti-responsibility, and pro-self. Spoiled brats.

They are trying to destroy the system which makes their lifestyle possible. In the system they are trying to bring to power, they would be among the first ones to lose their positions, and maybe their lives. Their "the world revolves around me" attitude would not be tolerated.

I hope you are right about the young people becoming more conservative. It's time to turn the leftist boomers out to pasture.

Very well said.....long live the SILENT Boomers....bye bye elitist boomer....and good riddance......I celebrated with a conservative friend over coffee just today the "fall" of the liberal elite....although, we wouldn't want to not remain vigilant! But, they do seem down for the count... YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEE....finally.....my grandson will grow up in a better world than my son. And I'd love to contact some of those liberals who gave me up as a friend because I was conservative. Oh, well, their loss...LOL.

Litany, this is a great read,a very nice piece of writing. Your take on the Elitist Boomers is really quite insightful.I hope you get this published. Please submit it, or if we have some Freeper publisher types, maybe some info can come your way.

I have been telling my friends--I'm a 49 yr. old Boomer who has blowed up real good!--that the "kids" in our military have done such a terrific job--that I am so proud of them--that America is lucky to have yet another greatest generation like them. And instinctively I knew that I would never have the chance to accomplish the great things that they have accomplished.

But
I am thankful for them.

As for the Clintons, you've nailed them as Elistist Boomers. Except, to me, Hillary is an Elitist B@tch.

Jeez, I'm flattered. I'll try to clean this thing up over the weekend and then submit it to the two local (Cincinnati) papers.

Thanks for the ping my friend.

It's always good to encounter a fellow traveler.

Did you see those poor Iragi 'soldiers' on CNN tonite? I don't know who I wept harder for; the Iraqis, or the absolutely shell shocked and gobsmacked CNN reporter.

There were at least a few thousand Iraqi 'soldiers' who were attempting to do nothing more than walk home.

Noone I saw was carrying a weapon (though I think they may come to regret that), they were all unarmed. Not one of theme was wearing anything remotely resembling a decent pair of shoes. The CNN reporter seemed to be absolutely stunned when the Iraqi soldier said to him something like: "If we didn't fight for Saddam, we would be executed."

If there is anyone with a brain in their head at CENTCOM, they will dispatch by any means necessary a Supply convor to that CNN Reporters location. He or she will further order every available MRE and bottle of water to be dispatched to that column off poor bastads who most likely haven't had a decent meal in weeks.

With any luck, it will be the Marines who get the duty. Hell , they've earned it.

Any Marine worth his salt would rather be giving them a ride home than killing them..

We live in amazing times.

Regards,

L
