And I wonder why she is dressed that way, was she a sweetie of the Hussein's or something? Almost all the women are in black with headcoverings.....anyone have any idea?

Saddam wanted Iraq to be a secular country, though most people there are Muslim but they didn't have to be if they didn't want to be; there may be some Christians and agnostics there too. It's not like Iran where the women have to wear the chadors (sp), they were free to dress as they wanted, but since most people there are Muslims, most of the women do cover up. Basically it's cultural, not enforced.

It's like every rough place in the world. The fairest skinned are the protected class. The progressive class. They are now understandably pissed. It's no different than South Africa or Israel or Cuba.
