Uzma Bashir:..."Today is quite possibly the last day I get the chance to send any communications to the world, just before the US/UK start the aggression on Iraq. I feel a great deal of sadness, exhaustion, and disblief that this could possibly be happening - mostly sadness for the Iraqi men, women, children that I have made friends with, like Saffe, the street kid that meets me every day with a big inoccent smile and non-stop kisses. You may ask me why I stay? I have a choice to leave, but they don't. I stay with my new found friends. I could have stayed at home in my comfortable surroundings watching tv, going crazy, being idle - but instead, I am honored to be here today. My home for now is the Daura Electrical Power Plant, where I will stay to save the site, until I am forced to leave. This site provides 30% of Baghdad's power, generated for water treatment plants. (After the last Gulf War, more people died from untreated water than from the actual bombs: 500,000 children.) I ask my fellow Brits: don't give up the fight for truth and peace. Please do not succumb. I will not succumb. Finally, I'd like to thank all those who have worked so hard to stop this slaughter. I'd like to say, goodbye for now, to my friends and family, and to let them know that I love them deeply, and hope to be home soon. Peace, Uzma"
and
(Regarding "Survivor, two years ago) "Charlotte who isn't too keen on killing fish; and Dippy Uzma, who was desperate to find "the kerolene" (sic) to fuel the fire."
and
"Uzma Bashir Sheikh,30, (Note: article two years old) owner of a children's nursery in Watford, Herts, looked askance as Simon Dunkley, 35, a sales manager from Tamworth, Staffs, caught two rats on the island of Pulau Tiga in the South China Sea, off Borneo. She said yesterday: "I just couldn't eat the rats - no, absolutely not. I just wasn't going to do it. I was really offended by the drowning. As far as I was concerned, it wasn't necessary. In fact, only two of us didn't eat the rats." Ms Sheikh, a millionairess, said of the show, which features a £1 million prize for the last person to be left on the beach: "As events progressed I saw the vicious side of people, their crass vulgarity."
and
(Regarding her work as a "human shield" for the Ba'ath Regime in Iraq) "When we arrive, we will work out where the bombing is most likely to be, where there would be most casualties, and we will go there, says 32-year-old Uzma Bashir, an anti-war activist from Yorkshire, England. Our purpose is to protect civilians. Bashir is part of Human Shield Action Iraq, which wants to get 10,000 Westerners to voluntarily camp out in target-rich areas of Iraq."

She needs to be collateral damage. Maybe the Iraqis will do it for us.
Can someone get one of the Marines to complain about her to some of the Iraqis?
That'd prolly take care of it.

Nice work. The marines also encountered pond scum shields when they searched the Sheraton hotel as well.

Too bad it wasn't Uzma Bashir who paid the ultimate price, instead of good guys like Michael Kelly and David Bloom.

I feel a great deal of sadness, exhaustion, and disblief that this could possibly be happening - mostly sadness for the Iraqi men, women, children that I have made friends with,She cares so much about the Iraqi people that she actively tried to stop their liberation from happening, and spoke (or yelled) out against the liberators.

If she were such a dedicated, Iraqi-lovin' human shield, what the heck was she doing hanging out at the swank Palestine Hotel, home of international journalists and government officials? Bet her professed home, "the Daura Electrical Power Plant, where I will stay to save the site," hardly saw her shadow for the weeks she was in Baghdad. (I shudder to think what those little rosy-cheeked cherubs in her nursery classes back in England are being taught....)

Excellent research.
Is the the one yelling at US troops as they entered the Palestine (sic) hotel in Baghdad? If so, I agree she should be under coalition arrest.
