Mr. Clinton must be asked these questions, under the threat of subpoena, if necessary. Congress should immediately start an investigation of this sordid mess.
Didn't any of these clowns ever watch Schindler's List? They conveniently drop a tear at a movie, and overlook thousands being slaughtered in real time.
THEY MAKE ME SICK!

Rush: "The truth is the truth. These people opposed the use of military force so that the suffering of others might end. They've cast their lot with the U.N. bureaucracy and the obstructionism of the French and the Germans and this whole appeasement plan, in hopes of derailing this war of liberation and
scoring political points against the president they hate. That's the bottom line. They were doing whatever they could to stop this war. I'm sorry to have to include CNN in this, but the whole left-wing media was doing everything it could to thwart this war, and look at what they knew was going on all the while."
CONSERVAPHOBIA (start using the word everywhere) is alive and well at CNN.

Of course he knew, he also knew that the jihadists were using Americans and American soldiers as tin cans for plinking. He's a waste to even discuss, there is nothing redeemable about him, nothing.

Can the media creatures be charged with aiding and abetting a war crime? A crime against humanity? As I recall they hung or imprisoned Germans serving under the Hitler government who knew about war crimes but did not participate.

I seriously doubt any government official, including the President George Bush in 1991, was unaware that Iraq committed widespread torture. So this goes a lot further than Clinton.
Even I knew Iraq was a torture state. CNN failed to report this, and they were wrong. But CNN was hardly the only organization or person to know what was going on.

Eason's actions are, without doubt, sick and inhuman. And, The 'Toon most definitely knew. This is how far liberals are willing to go for a buck and to try to discredit Bush. With them, it's not America or humanity first, it's international socialism--iNazi-ism--first.

What did Clinton know and when did SHE know it. On 9/11, Hillary Clinton did not appear on Capitol Hill for the single most inportant hearing of her Senate career. A hearing of the Senate Education Committee (chaired by Ted Kennedy) at which Laura Bush was to testify. Both Mrs. Bush and Senator Kennedy were there and made statements to the assembled media who were to cover the hearing. Hilary Clinton was a no show. Why? She never has explained her absence other than to say she was on a cell phine and about to leave for the hearing, which would have made her late. She was on time (in fact early) for the rescheduled hearing in January, 2002, and appeared in various photo ops with Mrs. Bush before the hearing. Is it possible that her husband was given a "tip" and informed his wife? After all, he took no real action against terrorism and terrorists and may have been given a "quid pro quo" for his forebearance.

Watch C-SPAN tomorrow to see which way the InternationalANSWER crew is going to go next. They need these demonstrations to keep morale up and to feed their coffers but they need to move the goalpost. Where to? Tune in tomorrow to see if you can figure it out and to see real live commies planning your demise.

I have absolutely no doubt that Clinton knew that Saddam Hussain used torture. I also have absolutely no doubt that George Bush and Ronald Reagan also knew it. Didn't stop them from dealing with him.
To: paul in cape
One additional point: The sanctimonious tone of the Times is sickening, considering their OWN record of covering up leftist atrocities over a 65 year period.
That said, CNN has always been about making a profit ANY way they can, and kissing up to the ( hopefully late ) Saddam-ite is probably the least of their sins.
Much as I'd like to see Ol' Bubba twisting and turning in the wind, there is probably no court in the US that could compel a (former) president to disclose raw intelligence.
It would be nice to see CNN admit they briefed him...

Bubba was busy dipping his cigars in... er ah not brandy.
not brandy = Monica.
Bubba could care less about the difficult situations like Osama or Iraqis being tortured or North Korea.
He like Uday was in power for the chicks.

Not to be too churlish with you, but if a thread is marked as having been written by someone, in this case Eason Jordan in The New York Times, but it's actually written by the poster on Free Republic, in this case you, technically a blatant misquote is taking place.

Would the Clinton White House blackmail CNN into providing favorable news coverage for Crime Central, in exchange for not blowing the whistle to either Saddam (who would kill their employees) or the public (who would be shocked and awed by CNN's flimsy ethics)?
Just asking.
To: paul in cape
It's of course sickening, but not surprising, that CNN knew of the torture with
specificity and did nothing. But realistically, folks, there are no revelations here. Is there one person here who didn't already know in their heart of hearts that Saddam was an animal who mercilessly tortured people? I doubt it. There was certainly no doubt in my mind about it.
