Good POINTS. I take it you agree it is not a bio weapon.

My wife challenged me when I suggested this very scenerio. HK is the perfect place to spread a virus of any kind. Close contact between very large numbers of people, world wide traffic, and of course, this kind of "stuff" comes to the U.S. every year in the form of the Flu.
It is having a powerful effect on the economy already, just wait untill the known CASES doubles or triples.

Go to the website. There are many articles up on the site. That factor was discussed in detail in other reports.

>>I think it was being researched as a bio-weapon and escaped due to carelessness.
If that's the case, I hope it took out a bunch of the researchers.

They have looked at cats, rats and mice, and blamed cockroaches and leaky sewage for spreading the infection. But, doctors say, the most likely culprits are people -- spreading germs through sneezing, wiping their noses with their hands, coughing, and touching elevator buttons and telephones.
They are blaming everything except the Chinese !

It has me worried. It is expanding in Florida rapidly and with the large number of people who visit from Ontario who may or may not be carriers, I'm somewhat concerned. If Florida were to experience an outbreak like Toronto, what's left of our tourism industry would crumble.

The flu of 1918 was 2.5 - 2.7 death rate and they are still talking about that one. WHO has changed their reporting format. They now break it down by deaths and recoveries. The April 11 worldwide figures are 2890 cases, 116 deaths, 1373 recoveries. Going by deaths/cases, we get 4%.
But going by "final resolution" (did he recover or did he die), we get 116 / (116 + 1373) = closer to 8% death rate.
Excluding Communist bloc countries, and their suspect reporting, the numbers start looking uglier. In Canada, we have 10 deaths and 25 recoveries, Singapore 9 deaths 77 recoveries, Thailand 2 deaths 5 recoveries. If this breaks out into a global pandemic, we're looking at Black Death casualty figures
