And, yes, it is shortsighted. The pennies you will save by not giving Iraq help now will be mucho dollars later in trade. Course, you might be the first to complain about being laid off because your company's exports were down. I'll take the growth, any day.
It's not for everybody, but some thrive on it. Some like it, others stay in their heated pads and have remote start on their car so they can get into a warm car after surving the trip between their front door and the driveway.
Of those who like it, many are of large body like bears and generate enough internal heat to survive: they average twice the size of LA residents. Others are wiry cusses and survive the cold on p*ss and vinegar.
In any case, the myths that you can't use concrete in construction and you can't do welding at 60 below are nothing more than myths.
