People that think and espouse that the constitution is a living document and can be interpretated to reflect the times are one of our major problems!

I noticed that too. I think he was making a rhetorical point, and not endorsing the notion of a "living constitution".

That really jumped out at me, as well, along with his
suggestion to restructure the UN. The Constitution is
not a living document, and the UN is a dead
organization. Period.
