Television screens, newspapers and magazines across the globe this week featured images of a joyously liberated Baghdad.

Iraqis danced in the streets, kissed the cheeks of coalition soldiers, threw flowers in the path of tanks and cheered as U.S. Marines helped bring down a statue of deposed dictator Saddam Hussein.

Bookmarked. This is a great list - good start at the top ten mosted wanted anti-American media conspirators. I only hope that they can be made to repeatedly, shamefully remember their words.

An editorial at Oregon Magazine recently noted this article, too, JohnHuang:

Television, newspapers wrong on war in Iraq

As long as the link remains good, the headline above will take you to a Washington Times story which details the many examples of misinformation fed to the public concerning the war in Iraq by the mainstream media.

The reason why Oregon Magazine constantly points out this sort of thing is simple -- though most of you may find it hard to believe, you are fed a load of crap by these people on a daily basis, and have been for decades. From the international to the national to our local Oregon level, the networks, their affiliates, the big news services (like Reuters) and most of the so-called great newspapers and news magazines you have seen and read all your life have on a regular basis misinformed you...(snip)

Bringing the concept home, every time you hear a member of the Oregon mainstream media tell you the government has to lay off police because the people wouldn't go for higher taxes, you have seen a demonstration of this principle, right here.

It is my hope that one day a majority of you, my fellow citizens of Oregon, will come to understand how this works -- that it is done by intentional or unintentional, bias-based, deletion of key facts, spin and euphemisms. One day, perhaps, you will be watching a tv report about budget problems, and will suddenly say, "Wait a minute. They have just told me we'll have fewer police because the state budget is being cut. I wonder what the last state budget figure was, and what the new one is."....(snip)

When you discover that the state has nearly as much, just as much or even more money than it had last time, and that cuts made in the police budget are retribution designed to scare you into giving them ever larger amounts of your money, you will at last begin to understand.

The liberal media obviously isn't choosy about its lying.....how often do they conceal information about the Democratic Party?

That referred to a quote by the commander of the 5th Corps in a New York Times story in which Gen. Wallace said: "The enemy we're fighting is different from the one we war-gamed against." The New York Times ran a correction a few days later in which it informed readers it left out the words "a bit" before the word "different."

Oh thank you for posting this article. I did not realize that the Times misquoted (ie. lied by omission) in this case.

Now the General's quote makes sense. Shame on the NY Times.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before but...

Remember the two days of sandstorms? Where we "bogged down" and had to pause a bit on the march to Baghdad?

What crossed my mind (and surely many others) was, "Gee, why would God do this to our just and noble cause? Is it possible that even the higher powers are against this war? Why can't we/soldiers/Bush/GOP get a break?"

Now I see what a glorious gift that 2-day quagmire was: It allowed the jackasses of the left to go ahead and make historically bad and foolish statements and predictions, causing permanent shame and embarrassment to their cause.

Just the slightest speed bump in retrospect, but those divine sandstorms reaped invaluable political rewards for the good guys.

And the left can only blame themselves. As usual.
