I don't know how to make a reference, but one of the Posts here of FR had an "infection rate model." By April 16 it proposed an infection rate of 4000. We are at about 3200 as of today. With 2 deaths in Inner Mongolia I think we have unoffocially passed 4000 already.

As of 4/12, according to the WHO statistics, the difference between the total number of SARS cases and the recovered cases was about 1500. About 90 new cases a day were being reported over the past few days. This gives a growth rate of active cases of about 6% per day, or a doubling time of about 12 days.

breakdown for 4/12 shows Hong Kong having 35 deaths and 215 recoveries, showing a death rate of 14%. The world-wide death rate is 7%. The mainland Chinese death rate is just 3%, which seems a big statistical anamoly
