I strongly disagree.
You aren't a "hero" just because you took a wrong turn and got captured by an enemy who otherwise has been as inept as any the US military has ever faced.
Now, if you want to show me conclusive proof that they did something SPECIFICALLY heroic, fine.
But reserve the term for those who deserve it.
