In any event, in tumultuous times the young men's Party, whichever that is, is the one that will triumph.

Eventually, that will always come true. But why are young people increasingly resistant to the thinking of the Left? Maybe they're tired of being scolded over political correctness, maybe their parents have done a better job of warning them about drugs and sex and Leftists. Maybe they're more rational economically. Maybe they can see that the Left's ideologues are completely disconnected from real life. I think it's a combination of all of the above.

But then, all political tides to ebb. We are probably entering an era of greater conservative dominance that will last through the lives of most Americans now living.

Backlash -- it is the young who have experienced the most extreme of the left and has therefor had the opportunity to see it for what it is, up close and personal. The result has been a rising cynicism regarding the motives of the left.

Over the last several decades, the left has been given plenty of rope and they've used it to hang themselves.
