Baghdad Bob reporting for duty, Sir! He wants to become a CIA operative of misinformation.

We laughed at his lies but he was simply spouting the lies that CNN had no problem with before the war made them come clean.
That's what makes this so funny. Baghdad Bob did the same thing to the Jordan reporter than Hussein did to CNN, with the same results - faux news.

Re:
I still don't know why we didn't take Bob out sooner. I've given this a lot of thought and we took the airport and kept pressing, just as Basra fell in the south, and the lights went out in Baghdad, just as Iraq TV went off the air.
Each of these events alone are not devistating, but in concert prooved to be overwhelming.
The military defeates were combined with media and infrastructure defeats and proved to be the "tipping point" Rumsfeld talked about.
If I'm not misstaken, we took Al Gazeera (sp?) out of Kabul just as we were gaining the upper hand militarily. Again, each event alone isn't that bad, but together they blind an enemy about their situation.

(289,233,354 people did not protest the war.)

Actually, leaving Baghdad Bob alone had its good points.
One Iraqi general, having no idea where the US really was,
got in his chauffer driven staff car and left his house, only to run into a US checkpoint blocks away. He tried unsuccessfully to outrun the bullets.
