CBC news just announced 29 new cases of SARS from a religious community here in Toronto. I am assuming this means from a local church here. There have been several funerals over the last few days for those who have died of SARS. This could have been where they got it. Waiting for more information...

Clicked on your profile -- Wow! A college education professor that isn't a loony leftist. You must be one in a million, based on what we read about college professors these days. Congrats, and stay healthy!

Type in Sars as a keyword and have at it. Remember SARS is not the flu, and it is not yet known if it will be reoccurring for those who are lucky enough to recover. The experts claim that the mortality rate is 4%, but from what I can tell there is a rather large percentage of patients that are not getting any better. Watch Hong Kong closely. HK hospitals are just starting to get overwhelmed and I worry that infection rates will rise sharply once this happens. The SARS threads have many posters who say its overblown. I hope they are right.

The spread in the community will have to be explained. Unlikely that a convent in Toronto would have the kind of bad plumbing suspect at Amoy Gardens in Hong Kong.

I understand it to be a religious community of 500 members.

The Canadians had better check their blood supply again to see if it is still coming from Arkansas prisons.

Dunno. But do know that there are still a number of Dhukabor (sp?) and similar communities in Canada.

Nice pictures. :) I hope you had a great visit. Was everyone wearing the mask and was the airport fairly empty?

Good pics....do those masks work? I thought I read somewhere that they don't. There is much confusing info on Sars out there.

CTV.com is now saying that they were members of an international Catholic sect.
