"Our government might as well tell the world “Please Take Us Over”. Maybe they are."

I think you have hit the nail on the head, my friend!

President Bush is NOT stupid. On the contrary, he knows exactly what he is doing. He is leading this country to a one world government... interim step being a united "western hemisphere". What do you think he and the other attendees at such "conferences" as Bilderberg and Bohemian Grove are discussing?.... They are discussing GLOBALIZATION and have been for years. They all assume it is enevivitable and good for America.

My own thoughts are that Globablization would be good for America if all the rest of the world thought and behaved towards individual freedoms as we historically have.... but they DON'T. And as it has been already shown in the recent United Nations activities, these other nations can easily vote down anything America proposses. Will our traditional values of Individual freedom last long in a Global Government? Or will all we have fought so long and hard for these last 230 years be distroyed by the power-hungry petty dictators of 3rd world nations who will out vote us in the end and turn the entire world into what they are now... a 3rd world. If you cringe at supporting the "half ??" of the USA who is poor with your tax dollars.... how will you like supporting the "90-something ?? percent" of the whole world who is poor with your hard earned taxed dollars? It will take more than 40% of your income to do so... it will take ALL of your income to do it!

I (reluctantly) voted for Bush in the election, kept my mouth shut about my fears so that there would be no chance these fears would cause someone else to not vote for Bush... and I will vote for him again. I have no choice.. the alternative (a liberal Dem.) is too horrible to think about. But the fears are coming true.

If Bush wanted to show his concern for Mexican-Americans and gain their support for the election, then he is smart enough to think of a way to show that concern toward the legal immigrants... for it is the legals who make invaluable contributions to a growing nation. (a great deal of the Cuban-American) population is tribute to that).

Is there not anyone who will lead this county towards a secure future for our grandchildren's freedom? Or do we just give in to Globalization and a One World Government as Bush already has?

I tend to agree, as this invasion of our borders is no mistake, or accident. If it isn't a conspiracy, nothing is.

Sometimes I feel that the U.S. is one big Corporation and the President is actually the CEO..... They'll put us all on a level playing field if it means draging the U.S. into a ditch, that's why every thing you buy isn't made here, and our country is flooded with millions of illegal aliens that continue to enter unabated.

I agreed very much with the points you made in your fine post expect for this. You echo a similar sentiment I have heard from many of my conservative friends-- the idea that no matter how far to the left Bush goes, the democratic alternative is far worse.

I used to think this way but no more. Bush through his vast power within the GOP has proven to me that he is every bit as dangerous (maybe more so) than the democratic alternative...sans Hillary and her Maoist crowd.

The loyal conservative opposition to the socialism that the democrats peddle has been largely co-opted by Bush himself through his passage of much of their leftist agenda...without so much as a fight. And on immigration and trade matters Bush's positions are arguably to the left of Clinton! So with the exception of judicial appointment (that is big but it’s important to see how Bush handles this) I don't see the huge downside in not voting for Bush again. Either way, the Beltway Crowd is selling out America and her citizens as fast as they can. Choose your poison.

Finally, if Republican voters continually allow the GOP to run one RINO after another because of fear mongering that the democrats are worse (which the GOP does so well) NOTHING will EVER change in the republican party.
