Information chief 'hanged himself'
Mohammed Said al-Sahaf, Iraq's former information minister, has committed suicide, said reports yesterday.
Two Iranian newspapers said al-Sahaf, famous worldwide for his performances on live television in the last days of Saddam's regime, hanged himself last Wednesday, hours before US forces captured Baghdad. The reports were based on accounts from Iraqi refugees.

So he stole $200,000 from journalists and then took the money and bought a reeeeealllly expensive rope and hanged himself. Somehow this seems just a tiny bit unreasonable. May we see the body please?

I wish people would start posting Rural Legends.

HAHA! I did not hang myself! I was measuring the noose of Iraqi power as it closed around the Americans to see how tight it would get!
To: InvisibleChurch
Maybe Not! :-)

First he stabbed himself 6 times in the back then hanged himself.

Shame. He could have had a great future as a CNN correspondent. Since he was a writer for CNN correspondents in the past it should have been an easy fit.

This would be a shame if true. He would have a great career on Comedy Central.

As with anything that comes from the area locals, it comes with a load of salt.
Hell, the Russians are saying we bought off the Iraqi military and there are many other borderline tinfoil stories popping up from foreign sources.
Looks like it is going to be a interesting week of review.

Shortly before he was found, he was quoted as saying, "I will NOT be hanging around waiting for the non-existent americans to arrive..."
