Hey, I live part-time in Vietnam and have shopped in many markets and I've been in pet markets. Did you eat in pet markets? Hmmm.

Basically, nothing that the Chinese are reputed to have done would surprise me - IMHO they are barely removed from savages. Some are nice people though.

Not in one, but close enough to one. Most of the Chinese restaurants have a few fish tanks, and cages for snakes. But I know in Guangdong they have lots of other animals in the restaurant.

You can pick your fish, snake, and/or other animal alive, and they'll weigh it an cook it for you. IMO, some of the restaurants might as well be a pet market.
