"Saddam is gone and good riddance," former President Bill Clinton said yesterday, but he urged President Bush to resist trying to get even with nations that opposed the war. "There are German and French soldiers in Afghanistan today. Does the President want them to come home?" Clinton said at a Manhattan forum on corporate integrity.
He praised Bush and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld for their handling of the war, but said Bush should have waited longer before attacking for the "chance that either [Saddam Hussein] would have disarmed or ... we would have had far more members of the Security Council with us."
Clinton also said Bush should not be faulted if banned weapons of mass destruction aren't found.
"I don't think you can criticize the President for trying to act on the belief that they have a substantial amount of chemical and biological stock. ... That is what I was always told," Clinton said.

"That's what's called "damning with faint praise". Exactly correct assessment, just a minor correction:
The 4th word should be feint: "A deceptive action calculated to divert attention from one's real purpose."

I have to words for Bill Clinton: Drop Dead!!!

I don't doubt Clinton would have eventually moved on to detaining dissidents, torture chambers, secret police, gassing communities that stood opposed to his will, raping young girls and muzzling any outlet for opposition. Would have?
Already had.

How do we send this jerk a message, "We don't want to hear a word out of you - SHUT UP!!!"?

when is this guy going to ArlingtonHas X42 expressed a desire to be buried there? I hope that is not the case. It would be be a disgrace if that happened. He should be buried down in Little Rock.

Has X42 expressed a desire to be buried there? I hope that is not the case. It would be be a disgrace if that happened. He should be buried down in Little Rock. Wherever it is, I know there will be a FReeper tour arranged where we can honor X42 with the golden shower he so richly deserves. In fact, I'd love it if he had one of those "eternal flame" things like JFK, just so we'll all have something to aim at.

Notice how he gets on the bandwagon of victory, but then adds in how we should have waited.
And the WMD comment is a setting of the bar that we better (of course, we will). He is hoping we don't find them, is my guess.

IF YOU KNEW HE HAD THE WMD, AS WELL AS BRUTALIZING AND MURDERING HIS OWN PEOPLE, THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU TAKE CARE OF SADDAM ON YOUR WATCH?
