"Proof" it came from animals, but is not close to any known animal coronavirus?
It seems to me that this article offered nothing whatsoever to support the "proof," other than an assertion by the researcher.

This isn't big news. The flu virus also infects pigs and ducks, both raised together by a lot of farmers in China. The genetic material gets recombined in the other animals and when it infects us ,it can be a virulent strain. That is why the flu outbreaks generally start in Asia.
