You seem to be in the wrong forum. Liberal dems spew their hopes and dreams at DU.

We can win a lot of the high profile races -- if our candidate recruitment efforts pay off. Bush was enormously successful in recruiting winners in 2001-02, when everyone said it wouldn't work given mid-term history.

We need Giuliani in New York, Thune in South Dakota, and Schwartzenagger in California.

Pelosi's and Daschle's comments will come in handy come 2004!

You are right on concerning Voinovich and Taft. In Ohio we had no Republican Senators for approximately 25 years as GLENN and Metzenbaum were in power, only to get two terrible "Republicans" (Voinovich and DeWine) as their Replacements. It would be nice if we could convince some CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN to Challenge Voinovich and DeWine in the PRIMARY ELECTIONS when each comes up for re-election.

I expect that Jerry Springer is a LOSER, even in Ohio, but there is enough contempt for Voinovich and DeWine that he could get a lot of votes from disgusted Republicans who just want to get a Responsive Conservative Republican rather than the Trash we have now.

Peace! ([: ^ )

I'd be shocked in Schumer gets knocked off. Shocked. Even by Giuliani, who I believe won't enter the race.

Schumer already has $15 million in the bank, and is highly revered in most circles- i.e. NY Times, all other lib newspapers, and is not nearly as controversial (on the surface) as Hillary. Controversial being a relative term- his disgraceful behavior during the Estrada nomination doesn't play nearly as badly here in NY.

I think he's referring to the results of the Depression, he's not implying that the Republicans created it.

Fred Thompson had the exact same thing send him into retirement.

No way. You can jimmy the stats all you want, but Springer simply is not credible. I say again, based on his overall record, no thoughtful conservative could possibly stay home in a race with Voino vs. Springer.

Springer will not be elected to the Senate in OH. OH's GOP is as strong as Texas' or Florida's.

I'm pro-life, but I would go for Pete Wilson, simply to get rid of Boxer. I want a filibuster-proof Senate!

As you know, Boxer is more than brutal in the final days...She's actually a Grade-A liar in the final days.

Credibility has nothing to do with it - check the demographics for the state.

Lowest college graduate rate out of 48 states
Heavy union labor force
Strong Democratic Party
Agricultural (pork barrel Farm Bill)
Etc.

Put up another Democrat with name-recognition then. Same result. Kucinich?

I'll echo your sentiments regards Isakson. Add to that the dog's breakfast the GOP's made of the current legislative session (I know- the Dems still run the lower house in the leg.)and there are liable to be many less than motivated Rep. voters next year.

A competitive Presidential race will help fire things up but I, for one, can't get too excited by the ex - North Atlanta realtor.

but Kingston and other conservatives are, surprisingly, yet to throw their hats into the ring.

I like his unconventional use of "are yet", though he split it up and ruined the effect. (Folks nowadays use "have yet".)

I think a prolife voter can vote for a "pro-choice" candidate IF the voter does so thinking that candidate will help confirm prolife judges OR pass some prolife legislation. OUST BOXER!
