Hong Kong is treating SARS with anti-virals and steroids. They announced earlier this week that they were going to become more aggressive with this treatment. It is the steroids that is causing a higher number of deaths in HK--and I bet that that is why Singapore has deaths and Toronto, but Taiwan has none (Taiwan is not using the steroid treatment).

Here is a link to the case of the SARS-suspected person who left Indonesia to fly to Hong Kong. Fortunately, the authorites in Indonesia were able to alert the airline and the Hong Kong authorities.
