I especially enjoyed his visit to Boeing the other day. As usual, he had some guy on the assembly line show him how to do the job. To me this says every job is important.

"We're the only nation in the world where all our poor people are fat."
--Phil Gramm (senator from Texas, 1985-)

Why is that stupid?

"The streets are safe in Philadelphia. It's only the people who make the unsafe."
--Frank Rizzo (mayor of Philadelphia, 1972-1980)

And why is that stupid? Anyway, Rizzo was Democrat as mayor.

"In the United States today, we have more than our share of the nattering nabobs of negativism." --Spiro Agnew (vice president, 1969-1973).

Wasn't that line written by Buchannon?

"What's down is up, and what's up is down" - Al Gore (You kind of need the video with it for fullest effect.)

I believe the "nattering nabobs of negativism" line was written by William Safire.

I stand corrected. Both were White House speach writers at the time. After a quick Google I see that Safire has taken credit for it.

Next time, I'll Google first, post second.

I just copy them the way they are presented ... the Democrat quotes included a link to the republican, and visa-versa ... talk to the source webmaster!

Good questions, both, but send them to the author of the book/webpage, not me. The second one being a Democrat not Republican? really? Big mistake for the author, if that's so ... again, the website is the author's home page apparently, as these quotes are from there and from his book.

You don't the "stupidity" in Rizzo's statement?
