Apparently these extracts from this webpage are from Ted Rueter's book which is available at Amazon. Thought it would be fun to add our own nostalgic references to this thread.

"We're the only nation in the world where all our poor people are fat."

I was out of the country last year for a while touring France (please don't hit me).

The first thing I noticed when I returned to the States and landed in Boston were all the fat people. Young fat people, old fat people, tons and tons of fat people...

I don't agree - I think the mispronunciations are kinda cute. It makes him more human and down to earth.

Besides I love "misunderestimation of the strategery"!!

"tons and tons of fat people..."

And poor, all poor, all those poor fat people. Forced to spend their meager resources on diet supplements! Our society is cruel, cruel! Can you feel their pain? Can you feel anything after you're squashed into a subway car with them?

I don't think they're bad, they do give him an "in the trenches" persona, rather than the polished look that Clinton portrayed.

When I was traveling to Argentina fairly often for work in the late 90's, we always remarked how there were no fat people down there. Then, on about my fourth trip, we saw a fat guy in a crowd waiting to cross a street in Buenos Aires. We all laughingly commented that gosh, there was at least one fat person. As we approached the crowd, we heard the fat guy speak to his companion. Turned out he was American. LOL
