The left loves lies. Take, for example, Rigoberta Menchu, whose "autobiography" detailing her sufferings as an "indigenous woman in Guatemala" won the Nobel Prize and was later determined to be false. Or Tawana Brawley and Al Sharpton, who were of course total liars who destroyed several lives, but were the darlings of the left because, as one of their supporters said, it wasn't true - but the point was, it could have been true.

None of these things were true. They "could have been true" only in the fevered distorted thinking of the left. But you have to realize that the wishful thinking of the left trumps reality any day. And I'm sure the Oscar committee is just as left-wing as Moore, and truth was just about as important to them as it was to Pontius Pilate.
