Would this so called 'news leak' be designed to help her new book sales?

What new book? She's taken an advance, and is in breach of contract, but there's no book coming out that she's "authoring"...

Ern beat me to it. But I will also add, how could such a "leak" possibly help any of her book sales anyway?

My guess: The public in general will never see this story. Don't look for it on "All the news not worth burying" CNN, nor in the "We knowingly print fictitious stories for (what we deem) good causes" King County Journal, WA.

Which, in my educated legal opinion, will require a new contract . . . which will be prohibited under the Senate ethics rules (which as most of you will recall, she deftly sidestepped by signing the deal and getting the cash after she was elected, but before she was sworn in).
