CENSORED NEWS NETWORK II

Yesterday we told you of the stunning confession of Eason Jordan, CNN’s chief news executive, to CNN’s withholding stories critical of Saddam Hussein since 1991.

Correspondent Peter Collins has revealed more in a Washington Times OpEd. A 30-year news veteran, Collins worked in Baghdad for CNN in 1993. He reveals that on several occasions Jordan and CNN President Tom Johnson offered Saddam a one-hour commercial-free appearance on CNN, stating the pair were “virtually groveling for the interview.” Collins also writes that in a live-shot he was given a handwritten note from Johnson to read on camera. Collins reported, “It was an item-by-item summary of points made by [the Iraqi] Information Minister…” Afterwards, he was criticized by Johnson for not enthusiastically reporting Saddam’s propaganda. Collins resigned from CNN shortly thereafter.

The genie is out of the bottle. Now, we’re wondering what did CBS’s Dan Rather give up in order to get his sycophantic interview with Saddam?

That’s the Point.

I wonder what CNN knew and when did they know about criminality in Willie's administration. Do they know who murdered Vince Foster, who Chelsea's real father is, or whether Danny Williams and his mother are on Willie's Christmas card list? If so, then doesn't "journalistic ethics" require that they tell us all they know?
