The article says it seems you have to have close contact with someone who has SARS in order to catch it.

It was reported on Fox News today that the virus can survive on an object for 24 hours.

I would side with FOX...But who really knows? I hear that this virus mutates very quickly. There seems to be a more deadlier strain of this virus spreading rapidly in China and Canada.

Now, I'm going to ask a what may seem like a stupid question, but I need some informed opinions, and I trust the folks here at FR way more than anyone else.

Back before SARS got really serious in Toronto, I made an eBay purchase from someone in Toronto. Due to delays in getting payment and shipping information to the seller, the package went into the UPS stream yesterday. It should be here in about a week or so.

Anybody think there is a chance of a SARS germ from Toronto lingering that long to be viable by the time it gets to WA state?
