Modern Art is merely the painterly equivalent to Modern Politics(Totalitarianism), Modern Science(Race Doctrines and Global Warming), and Modern Philosophy(Deconstructionism and Neo-marxism). The author is correct in supposing that WWI was seminal in the overturning of the existing social and political order. Such a terrible event seemed to have indicted the entire Enlightenment-rooted, liberal civilization which throughout the 19th Century had been awakening the entire world with science, civility, and reason.

In an historical moment, populations tossed away the heritage of centuries in the mad belief that mere theory could replace historical experience and empirical evidence. Every field of endeavor and knowledge has been perverted by these Jacobins.

Hopefully, over the course of the present Century, they all go into the Great Historical Dumpster, with phrenologists and phlogiston.
