Why? People who are sick should stay home and not travel and go out in public. The same as for the flu, colds and now SARS. Quarantining won't work. I'm sure that SARS is already in the U.S. given the large amount of traffic between Hong Kong and San Francisco. It's too late to close the borders and ultimately pointless.

Epidemics are a natural cycle, see the Spanish Flu, the plague, etc. Hopefully we find a vaccine or a cure soon and we move on. The issue with SARS that never gets mentioned in all the scary headlines and fear-mongering is how many people got it and recovered without medication and hospitalization. I think the doom and gloomers are far overstating the case.
