GepCare Will "Destroy" Economy Six Times Over
April 24, 2003
Congressman Dick Gephardt's health care plan proposes to take money from workers, and lavish it on corporations who do the congressman's bidding. This isn't a healthcare plan; it's a win-the- Democratic-presidential-nomination plan. This is a classic example of how the left totally distorts the free market and tax cuts, and gets away with proposing programs that are far more damaging to the budget and the overall health of the economy than any press person will dare point out.
According to Gephardt himself, the first three years of his stupid universal health care plan would cost $692 billion - $230 billion a year. Yet the supposedly massive, destructive, end-of-the-world Bush tax cut has totaled $40 or $50 billion so far. That tax cut doesn't equal a spending commitment like socialized medicine, because that money that doesn't get to the government in the first place. But using the Democratic term, the Gephardt plan would "cost" six times as much as the Bush tax cut - and in Little Dick's own words, the Bush tax cut killed the economy.
So if a $40 or $50 billion tax cut is going to kill the economy, imagine what six times that in Little Dick Gephardt's health care plan is going to do. Plus, Democrats raise taxes to reduce the "cost" from the government. They never cut spending programs. They only grow - and they always, always, always cost more than their projections. Medicare costs are almost ten times the initial estimates. So when Dick Gephardt says his plan will cost $2 trillion, it probably means $20 trillion. This type of overspending has crippled the states.
Plus we need billions more for Homeland Security, and we know that we already spend a lot of money on health care programs, like Medicaid. Those on Medicaid have coverage for important things, yet still fall under this nonsensical "40 million uninsured" number that Gephardt throws around. That also includes young people who choose not to take health care, and kids who have policy coverage but not plans of their own. It's all about exaggerating the misery of people to advance their own agenda with some people - and in Gephardt's case, that agenda is winning the White House so he can grow government.
like he could give a rat's butt.
Might as well be...
TennCare is the HitlaryCare model, it covers 25% of the population of Tennessee..it is about to BANKRUPT the state.
It is so rife with fraud, waste and abuse it isn't funny. READ THE AUDIT REPORT TennCare AUDIT report Hundreds of millions of dollars in fraud, waste and abuse PER YEAR. And this is only at ONE state's level...........think of what it would be at a National level?
