Recent MoveOn.org letter to members
MoveOn.org | 4/25/03 | rocky88

An annoying liberal co-worker emailed this to me, saying "Have a Nice Day!" GRRRRR! Luckily, I was able to scroll through past FR threads regarding MoveOn.org and fire back my ammunition about this organization and what the so-called "peace movement" really consists of!

THEN ask your HR people about whether people are supposed to be passing out political or religious tracts at work.

What's more, the employee said that his coworker mailed this propaganda to him specifically because he knew that it would stir him up. Sounds like harassment and persecution to me.

put an end to the politics of unnecessary war

This sentence is a perfect example of the way liberals must communicate to support their agendas.  It's so complex as to almost render itself without meaning.

I mean, stop and think for a minute: how many directions you can take each part of that snippet?

It's only through this type of obfuscatory communication that liberals are able to hide the lack of moral or ethical foundation for many of their positions on issues: there's a feeling behind that phrase, but it's almost impossible to analyze that phrase and reach a moral semi-absolute conclusion. (I only say "semi-absolute" because, I don't believe humans can achieve or fully understand a morally absolute state.  We are fallible.)

While being conservative doesn't make people wise; I've never met a leftist in whom I thought wisdom resided.

They started the website just about a year after selling their Berkeley Systems company to CUC International, and used it as the basis to gather signatures to petition politicians to simply censure Clinton for his mesdeeds, and 'move on' with the business of the people.

Sounds like they got out of the tech industry just before the crash and into the agitprop industry just before the uptick.

I wonder if this e-mail bashing Bush by name violates the Campaign Finance Reform law...

It certainly perpetuates the politics of personal destruction.

There's one rabid antisemite Democrat contender for the President you didn't mention, Lyndon LaRouche is again running for the DNC nomination.

"Instead, OUTWIT, OUTMANUEVER or, more simply, USE THE TRUTH!"

Thanks to FR we have the truth!

I think it's time for MoveOn.org members to put the bong down.

Contributions to MoveOn.org are not tax deductible because they will be used to influence legislation.

They are a Political Action Committee. How will the campaign finance reform laws affect them?

Censure and Move On was a bipartisan group of concerned citizens organizing around a single cause: reaching closure on the Clinton scandal. The vast majority of the American public understood that a continuing obsession with scandal will do great damage to our institutions, our economy, and our power and prestige in the world.
So letting a sitting president violate the law is okay because he is a democrat. The left doesn't care what happens to US prestige/power (especially the aid and comfort it gave Saddam and the arab street) or the economy now that a Republican is in office (actually I take that back, they do care, they want to see our image and ecomony suffer so they can come in on a white horse and "save" us).

What did Bubba's Iraq bombing scampaign in Dec 1998 do except to maybe sway a few fence sitting senators during impeachement? I think that Clinton authorized a surprise bombing attack on a Wednesday and the vote for impeachment was on Saturday.

These leftists are doublespeaking frauds.

See Rocky88's post at 25. It would seem that they are a 501(c)(3) group. Working explicitly on election related activities would be prohibited.

Don't forget to ask your friend if he was dumb enough to join such an obviously communist organization.

MoveOn.org, though not a registered non-profit, is now able to offer their private contributors tax-deductible benefits when they make their donation through the San Francisco Foundation Community Initiative Fund (a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization). Other organizations providing financial support include the Iraq Peace fund ($20,000 grant - an effort of the "Tides Foundation", tidesfoundation.org), and a grant of $100,000 in 2002 from the Richard & Rhoda Goldman Fund. Coincidentally, the Goldman Fund also provided the now irrelevant Million Mom March with a $4.3 million grant in 1999.

Looks like they may be operating some front organizations. They may keep their books legit.

Pacifica Radio is a 501c3 that definitely violates the political activism clause of their (Pacifica's) status. I haven't been able to get anyone excited about that violation (there are a handful of other posters who also comment on it but most people dismiss it).

The hawks in the Bush Administration see this as a vindication of their belligerent world view.

This is hilarious!!

They cite Karl Rove's statement as truth!

Leading the Left by the nose, indeed.

"we used to have a girl here that received these emails....this all started with the impeachment hearings, then they moved on to the 2000 elections, then the 2002 elections (all their candidates lost), then the war. I don't think they have "won" any of their causes...but people still send their dollars to them. A group of ex-notcommers still shilling people out of their money."

So I guess the MoveOn.org never does.

Use your search button and check out moveon.org

This organization is clearly FUNDED by Communist organizations. I do believe they list who their supporters are. It's very obvious by this list what these people stand for: anti-American, anti-capitalism, anti-Bush.

Be sure your friend realizes she is supporting Communism. Is that what she want to do ?? Most liberals are astounded to find out what kind of organization they are involved in - and they are also astounded to find out what the organization really espouses as a philosophy. I'm involved in FR because I believe the same things they believe in. What does your co-worker believe in. You might be surprised how ignorant these people are about what they're supporting.

Don't get mad at her - try to educate her. If she doesn't know the truth - it may do her a big favor. If she does know the truth - you will know her true colors.

I received an email back from my co-worker just before the workday ended. I am so proud of me and of my sources at FR because he, for the very first time, did not respond in a nasty tone, but said, "Yeah, I even thought this letter was a little wacky!"

This is a victory, because he is that liberal in his 30's that attends peace rallies, makes W jokes, loves the Greens and tells me I'm homophobic because I don't support gay marriage. For him to retort in a non-nasty way (or more often, an EMOTIONAL way!) is a big deal.

Thanks, FR - for all of your suggestions!!!
